Stop everything you’re doing right now and just let this super–adorable love story wash over you like a waterfall full of puppies.
Roz and Ian Ellis, who previously divorced after 23 years of marriage, reconnected again almost 23 years after their divorce and just got remarried, BT reports.
The Ellises first met in 1967 and were engaged after a few months and married the following year. Roz says their first meeting “wasn’t quite love at first sight, but there was definitely an attraction” and describes it was a “whirlwind romance.”
Sadly, the couple says they “drifted apart” and ended up divorcing in 1991, though they stayed friends (they have three kids and eight grandkids, so that was probably a good idea).
Years later, after they both remarried and both their partners died, they reconnected at their son’s wedding in 2013 (nearly 23 years after they split up) and started going to dinner together and taking trips together. Roz says by January of the following year, they both realized they still felt something for each other and decided to give it another shot. By January 2015, they were already making wedding plans (*sob*).
Roz says of the very pleasant and super-romantic surprise reunion, “I never thought we’d get married again, but I’m so happy that we did.” She also says she kept her original wedding ring and plans to use it again for this wedding (even though Ian didn’t keep his, but who cares? it worked out) saying, “It’s like we’ve come full circle.”
Who’s cutting onions nearby? Who? *Sniffles.*
